Adventures in Learning:

A camp for young science and math explorers

Marian College Science and Math Camp for Grades K–2

 

Students will observe and explore how their world works, living things, and every day events.

 

v     Where:  Marian College Campus

 

v     When:  June 15 – 19, 2009

 

v      Time:  8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. each day (aftercare available until 5:30 p.m.)

 

v      Who:  The camp will be led by Marian College staff and expert teachers.

 

  Cost:  $150.00 per camper

(Financial arrangements can be made under certain circumstances.)

 

v      Focus:  Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics

 

v      Activities:  Hands-on Activities, field Trips, and lots of fun!

 

v      Rewards:  New knowledge in math and science; continental breakfast, lunch and snack each day; T-shirt, certificate of participation, and great friends!

² Time: 8:00 - 4:30 pm each day (aftercare available until 5:30 pm)

 

² Who: The camp will be led by Marian College staff and expert teachers.

 

² Cost: $150.00 per camper

² Focus:  Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics

Camp GEMS

Girls Energized by Math and Science

A collaborative camp between Girls Incorporated and the

Life Science Education Center at Marian College for girls age 11 – 14.

 

²    Camp Theme:  Construction and Philanthropy 

 

²    Where: Marian College Campus

 

²    When: July 13 24, 2009

 

²    Time: 8:00 - 4:00 pm each day (aftercare available until 5:30 pm)

 

²    Who: The camp will be led by Marian College and Girls Inc. staff

 

²    Cost: $200.00 per camper

     (Limited financial aid available; please request scholarship application with registration.)

 

²    Focus:  Biology, Chemistry, Empowerment, Physics & Mathematics

 

²    Activities: Field trips, hands-on activities, and lots of fun!

 

²    Rewards:  T-shirt, certificate of participation, continental breakfast, lunch & snack each day, new knowledge in math & science, opportunity to give to the community, and great friends!

Marian College is opening its campus to high school students, grades 10-12, to focus on one level of math and one level of science during a two-week residential summer institute with emphasis on:

 

v Algebra II/Geometry

v Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus

v Differential Calculus

v Chemistry 

v Physics
