2009 Marian College Summer Science and Math Teacher Workshop

An intensive summer workshop experience in science and mathematics

for K – 8 teachers.

v  Where:  Marian College Campus            

v  When:  July 6 – 10, 2009

v  Time:   8:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

v  Who:   Marian College Faculty and Expert Area Teachers

v  Cost: $500, if receiving three graduate credits; $300 if receiving 30 CRUs

(Teachers who have attended previous Marian College Science and Math Teacher Workshops will receive a 50% discount. Also discounts for teams of two or more teachers from the same school.)

v  Focus:   Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics

v  Activities:  Workshops, certifications, field trips, and resource sharing         

v  Rewards: 

·         Opportunity to apply for a Professional Development Mini-Grant (up to $250)

·         Opportunity to take EDU 522, Best Practices in Math and Science for three graduate credits (Two Saturday sessions are also required on May 16 and May 30)

·         Opportunity for 30 CRUs

·         Opportunity to receive certification in DNR Education Center programs

·         Lesson Plans and other resources

·         Continental breakfast and lunch

·         T-shirt and other surprises!
